Pastor Tom Barron

Pastor Tom married his high school sweetheart in 1983. Pastor Tom & Kathy have 2 daughters, Esther who is married to Andy Cody and living in Xenia, OH and Hannah who is in her senior year at Cedarville University.

          Pastor Tom has served churches in Colorado, West Virginia, Michigan, South Dakota, Delaware, and now here in Illinois. He graduated from Bob Jones University and the Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music. He has some post graduate work at Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary and Calvary Theological Seminary.

          Some little know things about Pastor Tom are; he wrestled in both high school and college, he is the youngest of 4 children, his dad was his best man in their wedding, he loves fantasy football, he is crazy in love with his wife, and he loves to pick on people (okay, this may be more out of the bag than he suspects).

          Pastor Tom enjoys watching people grow in their understanding of God. When asked, "What thrills you about being a pastor?" He responded, "I thoroughly enjoy watching people recognize something about God and then respond with worship and a changed life. That's what thrills me."

Alyson Schmidt was born and bred in the Chicagoland area, the only girl between two boys.  She graduated from Cedarville University in 2010 with a Comprehensive Bible and Creative Writing degree.  She is currently serving as the Office Manager at Central Bible Church, as well as working as a machinist at B&B Machining in Aurora and writing a novel.  In addition, she loves to work with the Jr. and Sr. Highers, is a Trek (Jr. High Awana program) and youth leader, and hopes to instill Biblical truths in our young people so they can go out and be ambassadors for Jesus Christ wherever God may lead them. 

Some of Alyson's interests and passions include music and music history, church history (okay, history in general), reading, writing, watching hockey and football, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Green Bay Packers (surprised?), coffee, word/brainy games, poetry, daydreaming, useless trivia, and one day beating Pastor Tom in fantasy football.  When she grows up she would like to be living in Nashville, TN as a novelist, songwriter and wife (not necessarily in that order).

For now, Alyson strives to find contentment with where the Lord has put her, is learning what it truly means to surrender one's life to Christ, and is able to spend precious time with her family and puppy.
