Journey is the Sr. High program that Awana offers. It is for kids in 9th-12th grade.

This year we are making a BIG change to our Journey program. We are going to have a Journey group meet on Sunday nights from 5:45-7:15 p.m. During this time we will spend time studying the Word of God as we go through our books. We will also have games and time set aside for the kids to work in their books on verses and other requirements. This change will begin on Sunday, September 13th.

Every year we go through a main study and an elective. On September 13th we will begin Main Study 3, 1 Corinthians. In order to complete these studies to earn awards, our Sr. Highers must complete Faith's Foundations(starter booklet), complete both the main study and the elective study (includes Review It questions, Buckle It In sections, memory verses and Scripture reading.) They must also be involved in service and go through a leadership training seminar.

While this is a lot of work, it is very profitable. The lessons in the studies are tremendous and will have long lasting effects. And memorizing God's Word and serving; well I don't think I need to tell anyone how important those things are. And if a Sr. Higher finishes all 4 studies (in addition to finishing 6 previous handbooks in T&T and Trek), they will receive the Citation Award. This is a great honor that shows dedication and responsibility. This also means that they have memorized a great portion of God's Word.

Last year, we had the opportunity to be involved in Journey Quizzing and Games. These competitions are held against other churches in our area. We had a great time participating in both of these events. Our involvement in both of these things depends on the interest of the students.
