Junior Varsity (JV)



Hey JVers, you guys (and girls) have done a great job at JV this year. Unfortunately, it is just about over. But, there is one night left. And it is a big night. On May 3rd at 7:00 p.m., we will have our Awana Awards Ceremony. All the clubs will come together and honor those who have earned awards during this past year of Awana. It will be a great night!

By the way, although Awana is ending for the summer, we will still have a Jr. High and Sr. High Wednesday night Bible study starting on May 10th from 6:45-8:15 p.m. It should be a ton of fun and a great opportunity to learn more about God's Word. I really hope you can come.

And then Awana will begin again on September 13th. And instead of being called JVers, you will be called Trekers or Trekies or something like that because Trek will be replacing JV.


What is Junior Varsity?

JV is the Awana club for our 7th and 8th graders. We meet every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8pm in the parlor at CBC. Our night is broken up into three sections. We spend time in handbook time, council time, and game time.

Handbook time is when the kids work through there JV handbooks. To complete the handbook, each JVer must complete the individual units in the handbook. Units may involve memorizing a verse or two or it may involve answering questions that have to do with God's Word. JVers are rewarded with JV bucks for completing each unit and they can use these bucks to purchase stuff from our JV store every few weeks. JVers are also given special awards at the end of the year for completing their handbook.




Council time is a time of Bible study. Usually one of our JV leaders teaches from Team Units which focuses on God's Word to deal with a particular subject or issue.





Game time is a time to play games (pretty obvious, huh). And you never know what you might end up doing during game time, but one thing is for sure, although it may be humiliating it will be fun.



And we always have fun at JV!!

By the way, next year JV is being changed to Trek. While Trek will still be for 7th and 8th graders, it will have a whole new updated look. So be looking for that next year.
