CBC Youth Ministry Purpose

To support and supplement parents in their desire to see their children grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ so that they may be steadfast in their faith.

We accomplish this purpose by focusing on:

Teaching God's Word - 2 Timothy 3:16-17

God's Word is the one constant in an ever changing world.  His Word is applicable and pertinent to each and every generation.  We believe the teaching of the Bible will mature our young people in their faith, and we seek to accomplish this through meeting regularly for Sunday School, Sunday morning and evening worship services, Trek and Journey council times, Worldview nights, and devotions at youth activities.  And, of course, some of the best teaching opportunities come in the midst of life outside the classroom situation.

Service - Mark 10:4; Galatians 5:13; Ephesians 6:7

Serving is a very important part of a believer's life.  We desire to see our young people showing forth the love of Christ by practical service.  This may involve raking yards, getting involved in some sort of church ministry, or even taking a mission trip.  This is a great way to encourage the body of Christ, and also to reach out to an unbelieving world.

Social Activity

We believe it is necessary for our young people to spend time together in order to grow in their relationship with one another, but also to just have fun together.  Each month we plan different activities for our youth.  This may be something as simple as a game night at the church, or it may include going to play paintball or taking a trip to Six Flags.  These social activities not only build relationships between our kids who are believers, but they also provide a great opportunity for kids to bring friends, whether believer or unbeliever, so new relationships can be built as well.
